URBAN SWISH at EJF’s pop up shop this week

By EJF Staff

This week Urban Times hosted a swishing evening at EJF shop Just on Carnaby Street raising nearly £500 for EJF.

This week EJF’s pop up shop JUST on Carnaby Street was taken over by hordes of fashionistas looking for hidden treasures among the rails. Urban Times and EJF opened the doors to swappers laden with clothes ready to swish and find something special.

It really is true that ‘One man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ as swappers found YSL and Prada handbags among vintage clothing and demonstrated that there are positive alternatives to shopping and consuming when you recycle and reuse.

Swishers were accompanied by smooth beats from Rufio Summers and acoustic duo, The Luck with thanks to Off-beat as the swishing fever took over and we raised nearly £500 for EJF!

The event was hosted by Urban Times an Optimistic Thinking online magazine who have raised a whopping £3,000 for EJF over the past few months through events and silent auctions raising valuable awareness and funds for our international campaigns to protect people and planet.

A huge thank you to Urban Times and their fantastic supporters who made the event such a success. If you missed the swishing this week don’t worry there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved and bag yourself an unwanted beauty in upcoming events with EJF and Urban Times.

A special thanks to Supermarket Sarah who donated loads of great vintage pieces to the swish; to OffBeat for the great music and to photographer Josh Chow for the fantastic photos.
